Our first Christmas in 1999. Wow…we look young.
As you might know I like to bake. I think I got my joy of baking from my maternal great-grandmother aka Grannie. Her uncles were bakers here in Woonsocket during the late 1800’s/early 1900’s in the Fairmount area. I recently made her gingerbread cookie recipe. Grannie, who’s real name was Antionette, didn’t START going grey until she was in her eighties! I always hoped it would happen to me, but no such luck. My mom has said I remind her of Grannie in several ways, including phyiscally. I think I look a bit like her, too.
Antoinette around 16-18 years old (1915-1917).
Me from this past summer, 33 years old.
Grannie in her 80’s (in the 1980’s). She was born in 1899. That is her natural hair colour!
