an okay day

Today is a better day.  I made strawberry bread.  (Thank you Nicki for the recipe!)  We made some pina colada sorbet.  The weather is pleasant.  Looks like it might rain from time to time, but the temp. is good.  I put on one of my compression gloves this afternoon to drive Harry to work.  I haven’t really worn one for any significant amount of time in awhile, just for sewing or knitting.  My fingers are still numb, they always are, but my wrist feels better.

I also did a little research about post wedding depression.  It happens to about 1 in 10 newlyweds.  If you’ve suffered from depression in the past you are more likely to get it.  It is real.  It’s something I never heard of until now.  It’s something that I feel is never discussed…like so many other things.  One of the things that’s been suggested is to have a joint project like working on the house, or garden.  That just makes me more upset because we don’t have either.  On the upside it should go away soonish.  It can last anywhere between a couple of weeks to a couple of months.  Thanksgiving will be here in a few months, so that’s something to concentrate on, Christmas, too.

While in Joann’s this past weekend we saw a knitting machine.  Harry asked if it was something I’d like.  I think so.  I need to look into it more, but it seems like it would be good for me.  One of the things that’s got me down the most is not being able to knit.  I’m right handed, so any manipulation would be with that hand, which is just fine.  *knock on wood*

My hand constantly hurts and feels numb.

My back aches most of the time, not to mention the pain/numbness going down my left leg.

I can’t knit because of my hand.

I can’t work because of my hand and back.

I wish I had health insurance so I could have a doctor to have both things looked at and taken care of.

I still need to get my root canals finished….my temp. fillings are filing down.

I should loose weight…about 100 pounds.

I miss my dad.

I can’t get depressed, again.  I don’t want to loose another four years.

I just want to stay in bed and read and watch tv and cry.

job searching, bike riding and a purchase

I know, I know I still need to post about the Paris part of our honeymoon.  My left hand has been bothering me a lot lately.  The thought of typing for awhile is not a pleasant one.  I did manage to do a little knitting last week!  I worked on my brother’s scarf and started a dishcloth (which might get frogged to do a different pattern).

I’ve started looking for a job, but there is not much I can do and there’s nothing out there.  The only jobs I’m seeing listed are either CNA or teaching related.  There is no way I could do any type of nursing or dealing with sick people in any way (I don’t want to catch whatever they have and I can’t deal with blood).  Teaching is something I’ve thought of in the past, but I don’t have the education that is needed and I can’t stand up in front of people and talk.  Blugh.

I finally took my (new) bike out for a ride today.  After bringing Harry to work I drove over to the bike path.  I rode from the water treatment plant to one of the parking areas in Lincoln.  I’m not sure on the distance.  I’ll guess and say it was two miles back and forth.  I will go back to ride it again.  It’s also nice for walking.  It will be pretty in the fall when all the leaves are changing colours.  Missie and Nicki, if you haven’t been over there, I think you’d both like it.  It wasn’t too busy, but I was there around three o’clock in the afternoon.  I can imagine that it’s busier on the weekend.  Man I am so out of shape!  My spirit was wanting to go farther, but the body was not.  I’m feeling it in my knees and thighs.  I even did yoga yesterday.  I got to get back to it.  I need to find a yoga class somewhere.  I get bored with dvds after awhile.

Oh yeah, I should be getting this in about a week (maybe less)….

daily dose of fiber shirt

They are going fast!  I hope the size I ordered will fit.  I think it will.  I’ve been wanting to buy this shirt for months, but it’s been out of stock.  I managed to order it yesterday.  The bags I’d like are out of stock again.  Those will be hard to get.  I like that they offer a non-wool fiber shirt.  :)

Well, I should go start supper.
