That looks amazingly awesome. In a Martha recipe thing I got in the mail the other day, there is a recipe for watermelon ritas. Such ritas are good non-alcoholic, with the mix of melon, orange, and lime flavors – Sweet and sour deliciousness!

    Okay, now I am salivating.

Martha’s Recipe: (*You can omit the alcohol. Also, I prefer my watermelon ritas to have a little melon pulp in them, so I will experiment with leaving some of that in. I also prefer to “salt” the rims of sweet drinks like this with with sugar instead of salt. Further, there is something awesome about a melon rita garnished with a giant triangle o’ melon instead of a lime wedge.*)

In a small saucepan, bring 1/2 cup sugar , 1/2 cup water, and 3 wide strips orange zest to a boil over high. Reduce to a simmer and cook until sugar dissolves, 3 minutes. Let syrup cool in a bowl. In a blender, puree 12 ounces watermelon cubes (about 2 cups) until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on solids, into a pitcher (you should have about 1 cup juice). Stir in syrup, 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from about 3 limes), and 3/4 cup white or silver tequila. Fill salt-rimmed glasses with ice, then pour margarita mixture over top. Garnish with lime wedges. Serves 4.
